Daniëlle Bruggeman

Daniëlle Bruggeman is a cultural theorist, specialised in fashion and identity. In January 2017, she was appointed as Professor of Fashion and as interim Head of the MA in Fashion Design at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem. In 2014 she successfully defended her PhD dissertation More Than Meets the Eye: Dutch Fashion, Identity and New Materialism at Radboud University Nijmegen. Daniëlle has been a visiting scholar at Parsons, the New School for Design (NYC), and at the London College of Fashion. She has published on topics like the performative power of fashion, the performance of identity, and on the expression of ‘fluid identities’ in contemporary visual media. Daniëlle Bruggeman and Margret Wibmer teach the workshop Expercience your own time.
