Lobke Meekes
peopleLobke Meekes is a visual artist and master's student Education in Art at ArtEZ in Zwolle. She is inspired by social issues and landscapes. The "other," both people and plants, have her interest. In her work, she builds stories in which visitors become participants: a selfie of your own "flesh," and the question of how much of yourself you want to reveal, gave visitors access to Vleistival, a small-scale, deadly serious, but razor-sharp pop-up festival. With Modder Earth, visitors literally sat with their feet in the mud to generate a new conversation with the earth. And last year, she called for the nomination of meaningful trees; the descendants of these trees now grow together into "Eenwoud," trying to survive for a thousand years.
