Kevin Osepa
peopleKevin Osepa (1994, Curaçao) came to the Netherlands from Curaçao at the age of seventeen. In his photos, he often refers to rituals that are self-evident in Curaçao, but have a different meaning in the Dutch context. His work often revolves around the identity of Afro-Caribbean youth. A world in which the reality of daily life and the magical world of the Caribbean religion Brua co-exist. The themes that he investigates often have an autobiographical basis, but also connect with essential social issues about a collective identity and the role of gender.
