Tabea Martin

people
The Swiss choreographer Tabea Martin – educated in Amsterdam and Rotterdam and famous for her duets and trios – always explores sociological themes in her work. For instance, in her most recent performance, entitled Beyond Indifference, she probes the nature of authenticity. How do you determine what is true and authentic in a society where you are constantly being manipulated? Previously, Tabea explored the theme of identity in her production Pink for girls and blue for boys. This playful production poses the question of what it means to be a boy or a girl, and light-heartedly overturns all kinds of stereotyping in the process. Tabea’s style is like a cocktail: she often enriches her choreographies with non-dance elements. Tabea Martin teaches the workshop Choreography of identity.
