Maria Dabrowski
peopleMaria Dabrowski (1988) studeerde cum laude af aan de LUCA School of Arts in Brussel en haalde een bachelor of Design in Photography aan de HKU in Utrecht. Zij behaalde diverse beurzen en prijzen waaronder The Best Dutch Book Designs 2019 voor haar boekproject ‘Odsłonić’ waarin zij haar familiegeschiedenis onderzocht.
Haar werk vindt zijn oorsprong in de documentairefotografie. Met een analoge fotocamera op zak wordt zij vaak op intuïtieve wijze geraakt door haar onderwerp, waarna ze de inhoud induikt. De langlopende projecten, waaruit zowel een persoonlijke als een sociaal-maatschappelijke betrokkenheid spreekt, worden veelal gepresenteerd in foto-installaties en in boekvorm.

The long-term projects, which express both personal and social involvement, are often presented in photo installations and in book form.
