APRIA: ArtEZ Platform for Research Interventions of the Arts

APRIA (ArtEZ Platform for Research Interventions of the Arts) is a collaboration between ArtEZ Studium Generale and ArtEZ Press. It’s an online platform that curates a peer-reviewed journal (APRIA journal) and publishes high-impact essays, image and sound contributions that examine art and interventions of the arts in relation to science and society. APRIA encourages dialogues around themes that are urgent to the futures that we will live in.

Future Art School: (UN)Learning Practices, a collaboration with Studium Generale

On 30 November and 1 December 2023, the two-day conference Future Art School: (Un)Learning Practices took place in the Spoorzone in Zwolle, an initiative of ArtEZ Studium Generale that was elaborated in collaboration with the professorship Art Education as Critical Tactics, the bachelor artisteducator in Theatre and Media and the bachelor Docent Beeldende Kunst en Vormgeving Zwolle with input of the ArtEZ community.

APRIA asked a number of stakeholders for a contribution based on the conference to further inspire and sustain the necessary conversation about the future of higher art education. As insights continue to change and ideas will deepen, the series will expand over time with new contributions that continue to fuel discussion.

We are happy to announce all contributions are now available on APRIA. Please note: some contributions are available in Dutch-only.

Open calls

Each year, the APRIA board publishes an open call on a theme. This open call invites anyone interested in publishing artistic research and in the theme, of course, to submit work. This can be an essay but also photographs, podcast, video etc. Are you interested in participating but don't know how or have questions? Please feel free to contact us at studiumgenerale@artez.nl or apria@artez.nl.
