Tessa Straver
peopleTessa Straver graduated from Product Design ArtEZ with her project Com Panis. With this work she tells stories around the process of making sourdough bread. It is an invitation to slow down, to connect with the sensory richness of bread making, and to foster relationships with both human and non-human life.
Through the art of multisensory food experiences and workshops, Tessa seeks to shift perspectives and craft new narratives. She believes in the transformative power of storytelling and ritual; and a fascination with the effects of tactile interactions, has led her to adopt a touch-centric approach in her work. She sees disconnection – from our bodies, ecosystems, and communities, as a driving force behind the global challenges we face. She uses food and the sense of touch as bridges to restore these vital connections.
