Sensual Competence: Kneading and Yeasting

In het theorielokaal krijgen lees- en schrijfvaardigheid vaak voorrang op andere competenties. In deze sessie stellen we de vraag hoe we het irrationele (zoals het zintuigelijke) als kennis-in-wording kunnen koesteren.
Leesvoorstel:
We maken samen deeg voor vriendschapsbrood Herman, een gistdeeg voor een zoet brood dat thuis wordt bereid en wordt verspreid wordt via vriendschapsnetwerken. Tijdens het bereiden van het deeg gaan we in op de relatie tussen het zintuiglijke lichaam en de transformatie – het rijzen en laten rusten van het deeg, het gisten – van het leren.

In the theory classroom, the literacy of reading and writing is often prioritized over other competences. In this session we will ask the question how we can nurture the irrational in the classroom, such as the sensorial and touch, in order to let raise a knowledge-in-the-making.
Reading proposition:
We will participate in the domestic ritual of preparing dough for ‘vriendschapsbrood Herman’ together, a yeast dough that is disseminated through friendship networks. While preparing the dough, we will discuss the relationship between the sensorial body and the transformation – the raising and the resting of the dough, the yeasting – that is learning.
