Harpiste Andrea Voets ontwikkelde in de afgelopen jaren onder de noemer musical journalism podcasts en muziekvoorstellingen die zich nauw verbinden met actuele onderwerpen. Op maandagavond 21 november vanaf 19.30 uur speelt zij, speciaal voor ArtEZ, conservatorium, samen met Luke Deane (toetsen) en Sarah Jeffery (blokfluiten) delen uit de voorstelling Millennial History. Hierin geven zij stem aan hun generatie.

In Millennial History beleven we recente Europese geschiedenis door de ogen van millennials die er zelf bij waren, in vier verhalen: de Troubles in Noord-Ierland, de maffia op Sicilië, de Wende en eenmaking in Oost-Duitsland en de ‘kinderen van het decreet’ van Ceausescu in Roemenië. Tegen een achtergrond van reëel gevaar en totale verandering, moeten tien jonge Europeanen hun eigen realiteit vormgeven. Ze laten ons zien hoe we intens kunnen leven, gedreven door de wil om voor elkaar te vechten met heel veel zorg en liefde. Dit is musical journalism, to get where we are coming from.
Saxofonist Coen Witteveen en violiste Maria-Paula Majoor gaan op die avond met de musici en alle aanwezigen in gesprek over de totstandkoming van deze voorstelling, de rol van muziek in de wereld van vandaag, jouw eigen rol als musicus en alles wat komt kijken bij de weg van maker naar publiek, kortom: curatorial practices in music.

Harpist Andrea Voets has developed podcasts and music performances under the heading of musical journalism, which are closely linked to current topics. On Monday evening 21 November from 7.30 pm she will play parts from the production Millennial History, especially for ArtEZ conservatory, together with Luke Deane (keyboards) and Sarah Jeffery (recorders).
