Welcome to POWERTOOLS, an online course about art and diversity. In 10 lessons you will examine the relationship between art and socio-political matters of power, as well as between inclusion and exclusion.
You can use the theoretical concepts as tools for making art, designing, building and rehearsing. You can also use them to think critically about artistic practices and about how these interact with and influence power relations and inclusion.
The introduction, written by Isis Freitas Vale Germano, treats the need for a new language to speak about art and inclusion. It contains research questions for those who want to relate these tools to their own practice and for teachers using them in a classroom setting. Read the introduction via this link.
Each lesson introduces one central concept followed by several questions, assignments and/or work forms.
