Luisteren als praktijk

We associëren onderzoek nog vaak met een objectieve, een analytische blik. Hoeveel we onszelf ook vertellen dat we een meer ‘embodied’ en (inter)subjectief model willen handhaven. Luisteren – iets anders dan horen – kan ons die belichaamde, intersubjectieve praktijk van onderzoek bieden.

Tijdens de bijeenkomst doen een soundwalk en schrijven een tekstuele fonografie. De sessie is bedoeld om de praktijk van onderzoek die Dennis Gaens onderzocht heeft, te presenteren én er feedback op op te halen.

During this session, we will explore the research practice of ‘listening’. The meeting is organised by Dennis Gaens, ArtEZ Creative Writing lecturer. He is one of the lecturers participating in the Practices of Research project that is part of Doing (Artistic) Research Days 24/25.

We often associate research with an objective, an analytical view. No matter how much we tell ourselves we want to maintain a more “embodied” and (inter)subjective model. Listening - something other than hearing - can offer us that embodied, intersubjective practice of research.

In this session, we will explore the research practice of “listening”. We will do a soundwalk and write a textual phonography. The session is intended to present the method as well as to solicit feedback on it.
