In this two-part workshop, we will ‘map’ and ‘anarchive’ according to Dieuwke Slump's research practice based on principles of sociocracy and equality. The following questions will be addressed, among others: Who is responsible for how stories are framed? With whose participation do we archive?
21 + 28 January
16.00 - 19.00 (with soup and sandwiches)
ArtEZ Library Arnhem
We will work with mapping and anarchiving (from archive and anarchy). In the first workshop, we’ll collect stories from the ArtEZ-community and collectively map them. We do this according to Dieuwke Slumps research practice, which is playful and performative, and based on principles of sociocracy and equality.
After the mapping we will do a subsequent workshop, in which we will copy, print, categorize, metadate , anarchive and distribute the maps we created. We ask ourselves and each other critical questions on themes we encounter, like: who has the power to decide what has taken place? Who is responsible for how the stories are framed? With whose say do we archive? There will arise a polyphonous anarchive out of the stories, backgrounds, experiences, wishes and dreams of the participants.
