Sharon Stewart

Sharon Stewart studied at the Utrecht School of the Arts, Faculty of Music, and the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague. She has a private piano practice in Arnhem, creates (electroacoustic) sound works and installations, serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Sonic Studies, and is currently an independent researcher for the Professorship Theory in the Arts at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands. She was introduced to Deep Listening® by founder Pauline Oliveros, IONE, and Heloise Gold and is currently a core teacher for the online programme offered by the Center for Deep Listening at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She was also co-editor and contributor (with the text and sonic work Moonsong (I have dwelt upon the moon) to APRIA, Time Matters, a publication by the ArtEZ Theory in the Arts professorship that collectively inquires the changing concepts of time in the arts and other epistemic fields and explores and tests alternative -- past, present and future oriented -- temporalities.
