I aim to circumvent the ways in which the gender binary is expressed in and through fashion. Whereas fashion can be a great tool in exploring and embodying one’s identity, the fashion system at large seems to deny the importance of the body at its center. An embodied approach to research forms the core of my work. Through participatory performance, re-enactments, written and visual essays, manifestos and film, I propose new perspectives on the fashion system, setting out to make this system more embodied, diverse and inclusive.
