08 January 2021

Tally Mbok lives and works in Douala Cameroon. He is an experimental artist and founder of the concept "ancestral future", project of research into the archives of African belief systems.
Tally holds a bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of Yaoundé I. His practice involves multiple disciplines like performance, painting, video, scenography, musical comedy and music. He participated in several exhibitions such as the Dak'Art / off Biennial in 2016, with the WeAreAndYou gallery. Douala-Art-Fair, in 2018/19 etc. In his project ARCHIVES, he reappropriates the cosmogonic universe of cultural centres, and creates a world born of his fantasies, whose history does not take colonization and slavery into account. The first step of this project consisted in creating a nightclub where the Duala divinities and human beings were expected to attend a party: “Jengu Night-club” exhibited solo at Doual'art in 2018.
