Léon Kruijswijk
peopleLéon Kruijswijk (NL, 1989) is assistent-curator bij KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlijn. Naast het werken aan grote tentoonstellingen en evenementen van dit instiuut, cureert hij ook avonden met performances, lezingen en screenings in KW's Pogo Bar - een experimenteel programma in Berlijn gericht op opkomende lokale en internationale artiesten.
Kruijswijk werkt ook als freelance curator en schrijver in Nederland. Onlangs was hij curator van de groepstentoonstelling SWEAT (2019) bij De School Amsterdam. Verder organiseerde hij tentoonstellingen en evenementen bij Framer Framed (vanaf 2014), NEVERNEVERLAND (2017/18), Sociëteit SEXYLAND (2017/18), Galerie Ron Mandos (2018) en Perdu (2020). Samen met curator Bas Hendrikx richtte hij in 2016 de Queer Series op. Zijn meest recente artikelen over HIV en Aids-activisme werden gepubliceerd op de website van Mister Motley (2019). Met zijn curatoriële praktijk behandelt hij thema's op het snijvlak van identiteitspolitiek, queer & gendertheorie, activisme, institutionele kritiek, muziek en performance.
