In Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus Mary Shelley in 1818 already describes the currently relevant collision between curiosity and the idea of progress, and the deep-rooted fear of technological advancement.
We cannot fully comprehend what technological developments will mean for our humanity. But the continuing association of nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology and neurosciences is a fact. Technology is taking over the world.
During the Frankenstein Festival studium generale will organise the symposium Homo Technicus. A program of workshops, lectures, performances, presentations and more.

Frankenstein Festival is a collaboration between ArtEZ studium generale and Rijksmuseum Twenthe/Academie van Verbeelding and is supported by the City of Enschede.
