In this masterclass you are going to analyse the work of three artists who represent their ideas about sex and intimacy each in their own way. Each of them has their own approach, toolbox and perspective. What impact do these works have on you? How do you relate to what you see and hear? And how do you find your own idiom to represent engagement in your work?
How does the representation of sex influence our ideas about sexual identity in our society? The artists Igor Vrebac (theatre, dance), Melanie Bonajo (visual art) and Jelko Arts (text, illustration) share the mission to change ideas about sex and intimacy, but they each express their ideas in a different way.

The first one does it by offering a platform to a group of sex workers, the second one via seductive performers and hypnotic ritualistic movements identifying femininity and masculinity and the third one expresses himself by means of text and drawings. We will watch Igor Vrebac’s TRAENS performance and a performance by the writer Jelko Arts. Visual artist Melanie Bonajo will show a part of the video work Economy of Love and do a performance with Izabella Finch.
In collaboration with gender scientist Liedeke Plate and dramatist Isis Germano.
